Bookings linked to smart building control
Poort Padel is a modern sports venue where padel, hospitality and work come together under one roof.

With 13 indoor padel courts, hospitality and extensive spaces to work, meet and organise events, Poort Padel brings different worlds together. Visitors come here to play sport, to work, to eat or to meet each other.
From keen padel players to entrepreneurs and teams: Poort Padel offers room for relaxation, collaboration and events.

How the smart automation works at Poort Padel
At Poort Padel, the booking information from Playtomic is used smartly to control the court lighting automatically. Besides smart lighting, several forms of building automation have been implemented and connected to each other. Think of smart access for staff, presence detection and energy management, where the planned court occupancy is used to plan and control energy consumption.
The result: less manual management, smarter energy use and a venue that responds automatically to court occupancy.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about smart building control
How can booking data be used for building control?
Booking data can be used as smart input for various automations within a sports facility. By linking bookings to building systems, a venue can respond automatically to the planned court occupancy. Think of lighting that switches automatically, energy management that is tuned to expected usage and access control that can respond to bookings. This creates a venue that works more efficiently, needs less manual management and matches actual usage better.
How does automatic lighting based on court bookings work?
By linking booking data to the lighting, courts switch on and off automatically at the right moments. As a result, lighting is only on when needed and staff do not have to operate it manually.
Read more about Smart LightingHow does smart energy management work in a padel club?
Based on the bookings, the expected energy demand for the evening is estimated purely from the planned court occupancy. With that forecast, stored solar energy is used smartly and the system determines how much reserve the battery should keep: on a quiet evening more can be fed back to the grid, on a busy evening more reserve is kept in hand. With dynamic tariffs, the battery is charged when electricity is cheap and energy is fed back when that pays off most. Where needed, the building adjusts the rest of the building control automatically: lighting dims where possible while courts in use stay at playing level, and charging stations charge at a limited rate or shift to a more favourable moment. The result: less unnecessary consumption, lower energy costs and a more sustainable venue.

Yes, access control can be linked to bookings. Visitors can then be given access automatically based on a valid booking, while staff have fewer manual tasks to carry out. This is more convenient for visitors and even makes it possible to be open without staff on site.
Read more about Smart AccessWhich systems can be linked to booking data?
Booking data can be linked to various systems within a sports facility. Think of lighting, energy management, access control, presence detection and other forms of smart building control. Which links are possible depends on the systems present and the automation you want.
Does smart building control only work with Playtomic?
No. Smart building control does not depend on one specific booking system. Besides Playtomic, we can also link other software systems and use them as input for automations.
View the overview of all IntegrationsCan booking data also be used for climate control?
Yes. Heating, cooling, ventilation and sun shading are controlled based on the booking schedule, supplemented with presence, weather and CO₂ measurements. Only booked zones go to comfort level; spaces without a booking stay in an economical mode. Because the schedule is known, heat pumps and air-conditioning systems warm up in time and then fall back again, which avoids cycling and unnecessary running. Ventilation only scales up when people are present or CO₂ rises, and the sun shading responds to the sun's position. This keeps playing comfort the same while running hours and consumption go down.
Do you also need a good ICT foundation for smart building control?
Yes. Smart building control works best when the underlying ICT infrastructure is set up well. A stable network makes sure the booking system, thanks to Eventlogic's integration, can work reliably and securely with systems such as lighting, energy management and access control. By aligning automation and ICT, you get one future-proof solution.
Would you like the underlying ICT taken care of as well as the smart building control? Through our sister company Reset we can provide both, so you have one point of contact for automation and ICT.
What does smart building control deliver for sports facilities?
Smart building control makes sure the different technologies in a sports facility, such as lighting, access control, audio, climate and energy management, work together smartly and can be managed centrally. Thanks to our link with the booking system, these systems can also be controlled automatically based on bookings.
This leads to less manual management, smarter energy use, lower (operating) costs and more convenience for visitors and staff.
